Pain and Acupuncture
Arthritis, tendonitis, sciatica, headaches, neck
pain, back pain, and more…
Chronic pain can be debilitating and a source of stress for patients
suffering from constant pain. Pain not only affects the mind, but
patients can also gradually experience loss of movement and control of
body parts. Pain can be eliminated or relieved using acupuncture. From
chronic pains caused by bad posture, injury, or inflammation, to
post-operative pain, Fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, and even
menstrual cramps. Acupuncture triggers the body to heal itself by
stimulating the release of steroids and endorphins for pain relief and
healing. With acupuncture treatment, endorphin levels rise and patients
experience pain relief for several days. Within this period, the body
is able to heal itself. The idea is to keep the endorphin levels at a
constant in order to promote long term healing. After acupuncture,
patients feel relief of pain instantly or experience gradual decrease
of pain or decrease in the number of pain attacks. It is important to
maintain consistent acupuncture treatments in pain management. Along
with acupuncture treatments, herbal supplements are also prescribed to
increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. Sessions
are scheduled according to the condition of the patient as well as the
patient’s response to the treatments.
